Watercolor Batik

  • Pickle Street School Studio 2980 134th Avenue Hopkins, MI, 49328 United States (map)

with Carole Hunnes-Nielsen

  • One day workshop: Friday, April 12, 2019

  • 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily

  • $95.00

Watercolor batik is an amazing resist technique that combines painting with watercolor and melted wax on rice paper. Batik creates a loose look that can not be achieved with traditional watercolor methods.

This technique will change the way you paint. It is a process of painting in alternating layers of paint and wax. The wax is removed in the final step.

We will begin with a planned design to lead you through learning the process and then progress to designing your own painting. You will be given the opportunity to use a variety of textured and colored papers to experiment with.

You will also learn how to prepare your paintings for framing with a traditional mat or floating your painting in a mat.

Contact Pickle Street School Studio to register.
